It is an honor and privilege to share with you the VISION and PURPOSE of Texas Beacon of Light Outreach Inc. Texas Beacon of Light Outreach is a NON-PROFIT organization, reaching into the hearts of communities to empower schools, students, adults and families. We stand for EXCELLENCE and INTEGRITY in everything that we do. Our services range from after school programs, summer programs to staff trainings and family fun literacy nights. It is our goal to enhance existing programs by being a knowledgeable and experienced resource. It is also our goal to independently provide after school and summer programs for youth across the country.

President’s Volunteer Service Award

This year, TXBOL Outreach received a letter from President Obama himself stating that as a non-profit organization, they were being awarded the President’s Volunteer Service Award. In his letter, President Obama states that America is in need of people, like those of TXBOL, who are willing to combine efforts and seize opportunities to serve our Nation. The President’s Volunteer Service Award is awarded to those Americans who inspire others to engage in community service. The Award recognizes those individuals, families, or organizations, such as TXBOL, who have earned a large cumulative number of hours of service either over a twelve month period or over a lifetime.

Mark Lopez, Olympic medalist celebrates with Texas Beacon of Light Outreach

The night came to a climax with the Keynote speaker, Mark Lopez, Olympic medalist shared his story and was presented with the first ever Lighthouse Award. After Executive Director, Shanceler Terry challenged guests to empower their communities by getting involved,Ramiro Garcia and musical guests ended the evening with a rendition of Israel Houghton’s Power of One” as all attending students encircled the room with candles demonstrating the impact one can have on their community.

Mission

Texas Beacon of Light Outreach in collaboration with its sponsors, communities and schools, will serve as a resource to empower communities by partnering and offering quality after school programs, innovative family activities and high-quality non-profit support.

Recent Events

Texas Beacon of Light Outreach, established in 2004 celebrated five years of empowering communities through youth programs and non-profit support on June 3, 2010. Students of the past and present, patrons, donors and board members filled the United Way conference center to celebrate the impact and fingerprint that Texas Beacon of Light Outreach has made on the surrounding communities.
